After we have had an initial meeting, we usually start your child with a few short visits so that we can all get to know each other before the formal arrangement starts. I usually begin with an hour and then progress to a morning over two or three weeks, this helps with the settling in period.

Although the contract takes effect when the arrangement starts, I have a settling in period of a month in which either of can cancel the contract if it is not working out. A retainer fee is payable if a contract is agreed before a place is due to be taken up, this is so that the childminder does not lose money whilst holding the place. It is usual for a half fee retainer to be payable in advance.

I have found that the children can be upset if the parents are late collecting him or her at the end of the day, please telephone me on 01442 250013 if you are going to be late so that I can prepare you child. 

In case of your child being unwell

If your child is unwell please let me know as soon as you can. I cannot look after children who are sick as it usually spreads through all of us causing lots of disruption to all. If I feel it necessary I will call you at work if they seem unwell during the day. If you would like to talk about your child (without their little ears wagging!) please feel free to phone me later on in the evening.
