Policies

I have clear policies regarding the care of your child and my service to you.

Child Protection Policy

The protection of the children in my care is my first priority. I am aware of the local area child protection committeeI intend to create an environment in which the childrten are safe form abuse. I will endeavour to promote childrens awareness of their own personal safety.

All people working with children have aduty to report any allegations and concerns of a child protection nature which come to their attention. Parents would be notified first and also the social services department. All efforts would be made to be open and honest with everyone concerned.

Permission would always be sought from parents before any photos or videos were taken.

Play Policy

I believe learning is an active process. Children learn best by having fun and experimenting. My role is to provide an environment which is exciting to explore. I believe a program for young children should respect the individuality of each child and recognise his or her unique needs. I encourage independent thinking and i foster self-esteem. I want the children in my care to feel safe, confident and comfortable in my care. Part of the family!

Positive Behaviour Policy

I take positive steps to ensure children receive praise for good behaviour and try to ignore any negative behaviour as long as there is no risk to any other child in my care. Physical punishment, such as smacking will never be used or threatened. Children who misbehave will be given one to one adult support in talking about what was wrong and how to behave more appropriately. This may be achieved by “time out” with me.

I also have policies on:

  • Equal opportunities
  • Special needs
  • Confidentiality
  • Health and Safety
  • Collection policy
  • Partnership with parents
  • Health and sickness
  • Daily plan
  • Nutrition
  • Fire policy and emergency plan
